Years ago the Christmas Village was a big deal. Everyone had one in their home set up for the holidays. I tired of mine and had not set it up in a very, very long time. When I asked my son what his favorite holiday decorations were, he immediately mentioned the village so I had to drag it out. It is important this year, in particular, that special memories are honored and, when possible, brought back to life. With that goal in mind, I got to work. While I do not care for all the tiny parts of the village scene anymore, I put up the buildings and bought some very inexpensive fun trees, fairy lights (on timers, of course) and snow from Target and voila!! It glows once again…. as did my son when he saw it. First step was to place the buildings and check their bulbs. Then I put down the trees, taped down the little lights and added snow. So easy!!!
